More than 69,000 homes and businesses are still without power in Northwest New Jersey after the second nor’easter hits within a week.

Jersey Central Power & Light is reporting over 133,000 customers systemwide are without power.

As of 5:30 a.m. Thursday, JCP&L is reporting 4,254 customers in Warren County, 49,832 customers in Morris County, 5,284 in Sussex County and 8.501 in Hunterdon County are without power.

“We are experiencing power outages due to severe weather and are assessing damage. We will provide estimated restoration times when they are available,” according to JCP&L.

Customers are reminded to immediately report any downed wires to the company, or their local police and fire department. Customers should never go near a downed power line, even if they think it is no longer carrying electricity. Extra caution should also be used in areas where downed lines are tangled in trees or other debris.

To report downed wires or power outages, call 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or click the “Report Outage” link at jcp-l.com.
