Your host is Rev. Frank Fowler, Senior Pastor of Trinity Church in downtown Hackettstown. April is National Humor Month, and Rev. Fowler spoke with psychologist Steve Wilson. Steve is also the Director of National Humor month. Steve and Frank discussed why “Laughter is the Best Medicine.”
“Educationally Speaking” – Wednesday, April 18th @ 10:05 a.m.
RNJ News Director Joyce Estey is joined by her cohost, Dr. Will Austin, President of Warren County Community College. This month’s guest was Warren County Freeholder Director Ed Smith, reviewing WCCC’s accomplishments, and addressing some of the coming challenges. Dan Hirshberg also joined the program with the latest on the 2018 Hall of Fame.
“Newsline” – Thursday, April 19th @ 10:05 a.m.
In the first portion of the program, WRNJ News Director Joyce Estey welcomed Hackettstown resident and author Maryann McFadden, to discuss her soon-to-be-published book, “The Cemetery Keeper’s Wife.” This book is a new historical novel based on the 1886 murder of Tillie Smith at what was then Centenary Collegiate Institute. The murder of Smith, a kitchen maid at Centenary, captivated news readers across the nation; the gruesome murder has become part of Hackettstown lore.
In the second half of the program Joyce welcomed three staff members from the Warren Hills Region School District. Superintendent Earl Clymer, Deana Marie Turner, Co-Advisor for the National Honor Society, and Cindy Bamford, Co-Advisor for the Key Club, discussed upcoming events and activities.
