MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Three Morris County residence have been arrested for allegedly distributing heroin in western Morris County, according to Roxbury Township Police Chief Marc Palanchi, Mount Olive Township Police Chief Stephen Beecher, and Netcong Borough Police Department Police Chief James Blesson.
April 18 concluded a collaborative month’s long investigation into the narcotics distribution. The investigations were initiated after information Roxbury Detective Jack Sylvester and Mount Olive Detective Corporal Eric Krouse developed regarding the same subjects being involved in the distribution of heroin.
Search warrants were executed in the Eagle Rock Village Apartment Complex in Mount Olive and a residence in Netcong Borough.
The officers were assisted by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team. The pre-operational assistance was rendered by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
As a result of the investigation in Mount Olive 255 glassine bags of suspected heroin, under 50 grams of marijuana, and approximately $1,000 in United States Currency were seized along with a vehicle used to facilitate the crimes.
Murad Malone, 52, of Budd Lake was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, transporting funds Known to be derived from criminal activity, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Arrested at the Netcong Borough location were Amanda L. Hartle, 29, and Debra L. Hartle, 50, both of Netcong.
They were both charged with unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, criminal conspiracy and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
All three were lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a first appearance and pre-trial detention hearing.
Mount Olive Detective Lieutenant Lou Sanchez said “The success of this investigation would not have been possible without the commitment and hard work of the three (3) agencies involved.”
Chief Stephen Beecher said “All of our communities have seen the damage narcotics, especially heroin, is doing to individuals and families. With our fellow stakeholders we will aggressively pursue those distributing these narcotics. For those that are addicted, please remember help is available.
