EASTON, PA (Northampton County) – Students across 29 high schools from the Lehigh Valley and Warren County were at The State Theatre Center for the Arts in Easton Thursday night for the 16th annual Freddy Awards.
The Freddy Awards are to recognize and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theater in high schools in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, Pennsylvania, and Warren County, New Jersey.
Hackettstown High School’s “Godspell” won a Freddy Award for Outstanding Overall Production by a Smaller School.
Logan Farley from Belvidere High School won a Freddy Award for Outstanding Featured Performance by an Actor for his role as Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone.
Rachel Zwerver from North Warren Regional High School won the Student Achievement Freddy Award.
In addition to the Freddy awards, there were also scholarships and community awards handed out. Hackettstown High School won the R. Richard Knauss Foundation Cash Award.
