Irvington man sentenced to 10 years on heroin charges

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Christopher T. Brown, 40, of Irvington, NJ was found guilty by a Hunterdon County Jury on charges stemming from an overdose death of a Raritan Township man on April 10, 2018, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III said.

Brown was found guilty of third-degree conspiracy to possess heroin and third-degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute. The jury trial was presided over by the Hon. Robert Reed, P.J.Cr. Mr. Brown was sentenced on May 24, 2018 to ten years in state prison, Kearns said.

The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office’s Gangs, Guns, & Narcotics Task Force and the Raritan Township Police Department that led to Brown’s arrest on April 4, 2016,  Kearns said.

“I would like to commend the law enforcement officers and detectives from the Raritan Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office for their dedication and hard work in this case. I would also like to thank Assistant Prosecutor David Culley for his outstanding efforts,” Kearns said.
