The Fourth of July is a federal and state holiday.

The U.S. Postal Service doesn’t deliver mail and the post offices are closed.

There’s no United Parcel Service or regular FedEx delivery either. Some FedEx offices, however, may be open on modified schedules and the company still offers its “Custom Critical” service.

Most stores, supermarkets and malls are open with reduced hours.

All Motor Vehicle Commission facilities are closed.

NJ Transit will operate buses, trains and light rail on a holiday schedule. For a complete rail schedule, NJ Transit suggests using its station-to-station trip planner to check arrival and departure times.

Most movie theaters will be open.

Stock markets are closed before re-opening for business on July 5.

All federal, state and local courts are closed.

Local, State and county offices are closed.
