WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The driver of a dump truck was injured Tuesday afternoon after it overturned on Flocktown Road.
At 12:43 p.m., Officer Tesori was on patrol of Flocktown Road when he observed a Russ Landscaping dump truck that had overturned and came to a rest on its passenger side at the intersection with Nestlingwood Drive.
Tesori began to assess the patient who at this point was unconscious, unresponsive and was entrapped inside the vehicle. Tesori provided further first-aid treatment until the arrival of Long Valley First Aid Squad, police said.
A police investigation along with a witness observation revealed that the dump truck began to swerve after the load of mulch within the vehicle may have shifted, police said.
The driver of the truck, whose name was not released, was later transported to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Assisting at the scene was the Washington Township Police Department Emergency Services Unit, Washington Township Police Department Detective Bureau, Washington Township Fire Companies and St. Clare’s Paramedics.
