READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A Pennsylvania man is facing charges after he allegedly smacked his girlfriend and then resisted arrest.
On June 25 at around 4:00 p.m., a township officer was patrolling the Exxon Gas station Parking Lot when he heard a woman screaming.
The officer observed a man, who was later identified as Charles Manzo, 24, of Quakertown allegedly smack his girlfriend across the face while parked in the gas station lot.
Manzo refused to step out of the vehicle and slammed the door shut when the officer attempted to open the door.
Manzo refused to cooperate with the officer and was pepper sprayed. He was then removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.
Manzo was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. He was released pending a future court date.
