What better way to prep for “Restaurant Week” in Hackettstown than by talking with Jay Chai, the man behind two of the town’s unique establishments. The Pandan Room, at 100 East Moore Street, serves up authentic Thai and Indonesian creations, with many vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
Jay’s other restaurant is TOPO, The Old Post Office. At 218 Main Street, this building was the original Post Office in Hackettstown. There you will find authentic Vietnamese cuisine, featuring pho, hot pot, and bubble tea. Both establishments are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. On the weekends, TOPO features an Asian breakfast brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. At the Pandan Room, it’s the delicious Dim Sum, served Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Stop by to pick up your Restaurant Week passports, and be sure to have them stamped when you order. Jay also noted that both restaurants are giving two stamps when you order a meal from their “healthy options” menu.
