HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A Morris County woman was jailed after she allegedly was wielding a knife during a dispute Friday morning.

Alana Mitchell, 22, of Succasunna, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

At around 2:02 a.m., police were informed that a female was in the Bea McNally’s parking lot, located at 109 Grand Ave, wielding a knife, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined that there was a physical dispute between Mitchell and a group of females, police said.

During the dispute, Mitchell went to her vehicle and retrieved a six-inch folding knife. She then started swinging the knife back and forth in front of the crowd until she was tackled and disarmed by another person, police said.

Mitchell was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center and was then lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.

Assisting at the scene were police from Mansfield Township and Independence Township.
