RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Keturah Orji, a Mount Olive High School graduate and University of Georgia Track & Field rising junior, finished fourth in the women’s triple jump final round Saturday evening at the Olympic Stadium.
Orji set an American record with her first jump of 14.71m (48-3.25) and fouled her second and third jumps in her first finals attempt.
Orji then jumped 14.50m, 14.40m and 14.39m in her last three attempts in the final round.

Orji also became the first American woman to reach the top eight in the Olympics.
