HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) – Police have charged two juveniles and one adult all from Hackettstown with stealing a cell phone from a vehicle and an adult from Long Valley is accused of paying the juveniles to do it.
Hackettstown Police responded on Thursday, July 14 to a residence on Mitchell Rd for a report of a theft of an Apple iPhone 5 from a motor vehicle, police said.
During the investigation it was determined that a 14-year-old male, a 15-year-old male and 19-year-old Joshua Reyes all assisted in the theft of the cell phone,police said.
Dezarae Farrand, 19, paid the two juveniles to commit the theft, police said.
The three males were charged on Tuesday, August 2 with one count each of disorderly persons theft by unlawful taking and were released pending a court appearance.
Farrand was charged on Tuesday, August 16 with one count of fourth degree employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime and one count of disorderly persons theft by unlawful taking.
Ferrand was released pending a court appearance.
