MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) – A 25-year-old Ireland man that was driving a rental car crashes it and then fled the scene.
An officer on Monday, September 5 at 4:32 a.m. observed a vehicle with severe front end damage and with the airbags deployed in the area of Rockport Road and Karrsville Road. There were no occupants in the vehicle, Mansfield Township police said.
The investigation revealed that the car was rented by Niall Prendergast of Dublin Ireland, police said.
Prendergast was charged with obstruction, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving, and driving without a license, police said.
He was released pending a court appearance.
