ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) – Two people died in a small plane crash near Sky Manor Airport Sunday afternoon, New Jersey State Police and NTSB said.
The crash was reported at 12:32 p.m. and the cause of the crash is still under investigation, state police said.
National Transportation Safety Board Public Affairs Officer Paul Knudson said, the plane was a Mooney M20J that crashed into trees and then ended up in a background of a residence near the the airport.
There was one other passenger in the plane but their condition wasn’t available, Knudson said.
A NTSB investigator from Washington. D.C. was responding to the crash site and should be on scene this evening, Knudson said.
The NTSB will release more information on Monday afternoon.
