Man killed in Lebanon Twp. wood chipper accident identified

LEBANON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lebanon Township Police Department are investigating a death that occurred Thursday on Musconetcong River Road in Lebanon Township, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, and Lebanon Township Police Chief Jack Gale said in a news release.

Prosecutor Kearns Stated, “The victim has been identified as Hayden Balboa, 24, of Washington Township, NJ. A preliminary investigation revealed Balboa died from of injuries suffered while operating a wood chipper at a residence on Musconetcong Road in Lebanon Township.”

Balboa was the owner of SMY Landscaping in Califon, NJ. High Bridge Fire and Rescue and Hunterdon Medical Center Paramedics responded to the scene, Kearns said.

Prosecutor Kearns added, “This appears to be a tragic accident and our condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Balboa during this difficult time.”
