ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Succasunna woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly poured antifreeze into juice and then gave it to her grandmother, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Township Police Chief Marc Palanchi.
Elise Conroy, 26, has been charged with the attempted murder of her grandmother, identified as “L.E.,” 84, also of Succasunna, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, Conroy was charged by a Warrant-Complaint with first-degree attempted murder related to an ongoing investigation into her attempt to poison her grandmother with use of liquid antifreeze, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Conroy allegedly purchased liquid anti-freeze in late July with the purpose of poisoning her grandmother, whom she resided with in Succasunna, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Conroy then allegedly poured the anti-freeze into juice and gave the juice to her grandmother, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
Officials did not release if Conroy’s grandmother drank the juice.
Conroy was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings.
